theartbay's professional scanning service provides a high resolution reliable back up of your original paintings and sketches.
On receipt of your original artwork we'll scan it at high resolution and provide you with a digitised, lossless equivalent - perfectly compatible for reproduction with a whole range of different media and sizes.
We can save in several formats, though TIFF and PSD are the most popular formats for fine art printing.
Works are normally scanned at 300dpi and saved in Adobe RGB Colour Space (which allows an excellent gamut for printing via giclee), though we can scan up to 1200dpi in some instances.
Printable files, together with jpegs, are normally sent out via file transfer program.
