The UK Children's Fine Art Competition's co-ordinating team
Stephanie Boden
Stephanie is currently working towards her degree in child psychology and is a part-time, voluntary coordinator of The UK Children's Fine Art Competition. "My vision is for all children in the UK to be brought up understanding the values of tolerance and compassion". As Programme Assistant Stephanie is a key link between schools and other organisations in the UK, and Theartbay Gallery
Jindrich Zalesky
Anglo Czech coordinator for the UK Children's Fine Art Competition. Jindrich has a fine grasp of the history of Lidice and gives talks on the subject to local schoolchildren. His earlier career centred on engineering and design. For the past 6 years Jindrich has pursued a career in health and social care, and has experience in addressing the needs of young people with learning disabilities. The competition links in with an international art competition for children (the largest in the world) based in Lidice, Czech Republic. Jindrich is an invaluable cog in the wheels of the competition to ensure that communications between the UK and the Czech Republic run smoothly
Cheryl Gerrard
Programme Manager, Cheryl is a former regional tourism manager for a local authority and is a senior director of Art Venue CIC, a community interest company which aims to raise the aspirations of people in deprived post-industrial areas through art. One of her goals is to ensure that art becomes inclusive and can be used to endow young people, especially, with the values needed to successfully nurture them through life.
Alan Gerrard
Alan's early employment career was in pottery management before studying at Staffordshire University between 1990 and 1995 as a mature student. Here he qualified in Economics to MA level. He is also a fully qualified teacher to PGCE level (Business Education). After teaching Economics for several years at secondary and higher education levels, Alan decided to enter into business with his wife, Cheryl. They set up Theartbay Gallery to promote new artists from across the country and offer reasonably priced fine art scanning and publishing services.
